The National Press Club Inc is a non-profit organisation, registered under the Incorporated Societies Act 1908 in order to achieve permanence and so that the members do not have any personal liability for its debts. Its membership is open to journalists, politicians, diplomats, newsmakers and others involved with the media and also those people of curiosity and learning who are involved with media issues and who wish to participate in the affairs of the Club. Its office bearers are elected annually at its annual meeting, and are voluntary. The annual meeting must be held before 30 June each year. The subscription is paid for the current calendar year, and currently amounts to $35 which includes the joining fee for new members.
